Born May 11, 1988 in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia. Brad Marchand grew up playing minor hockey in the Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia area, including AAA midget with the Dartmouth Subways before being a second round pick in the 2004 QMJHL Midget Draft. He played four seasons in the QMJHL. He currently plays left wing for the Boston Bruins.

Join 89.9 The Wave in supporting Make-A-Wish Hero Mike Hamson as he runs from the Halifax Waterfront to the top of Citadel Hill National Historic Site FOR 24 HOURS STRAIGHT!!! He’ll be making his run on May 28th. Money raised goes towards creating hope for thousands of children with critical illnesses waiting for their wish! Donations can be made through the Make-A-Wish website.

HALIFAX GREEK FEST
After two years of take-out, Greek Fest is back with an in-person festival this weekend Greek Fest takes place at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church at 1146 Purcells Cove Road, and runs from Thursday June 9 to Sunday June 12. The PJ Walk for Kids is a family-oriented and fun community event that symbolizes the walk that families make together from the Ronald McDonald House to the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
