75th anniversary of D-Day

On June 6, 1944, Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy (France) to open the way to Germany from the West. Victory in the Normandy campaign would come at a terrible cost. The Canadians suffered the most casualties of any division in the British Army Group. June 6, 2019, marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.

National Fish and Chip day

Fish and Chip Day : June 7th. Fish and chips were first served together as a dish around 1860.  Fish and chips were served in newspaper until the 1980s.  Fish and chips appear in Charles Dickens' "A Tale Of Two Cities".  They were excluded from rationing during WW1 and WW2.  In Belgium, fish and chips are eaten with mayonnaise.   The Chinese serve fish and chips with sugar.  For the best fish experience, listen to the advice of those who live…

Peter Frampton- 'All Blue' released June 7th. Rock legend Peter Frampton is voyaging into a new genre. The guitar virtuoso has announced a new album called All Blues, composed entirely of blues covers performed by the Peter Frampton Band. “I have always loved to play the blues,” Frampton remarked in the album’s press release. “When we formed Humble Pie, the first material we played together was just that".
