The first plane landed @ the airport
Halifax Stanfield International Airport At 4:50 am on August 1, 1960 the first airplane landed at the airport in Halifax, a Vickers Viscount running the Trans-Canada Airlines Flight 400 between Montreal and Newfoundland. It was piloted by Halifax native W.E. Barnes. The first overseas flight arrived an hour later, travelling from London en route to Montreal. Halifax Stanfield is the 8th busiest airport in Canada by passenger traffic. The airport covers a total of 2,372 acres.

Born August 1, 1959 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Best known as the lead singer of the band Def Leppard. He has also been the lead singer of the David Bowie tribute band the Cybernauts and the Mott the Hoople cover band Down 'n' Outz. He is one of the two original members of Def Leppard and one of the three to perform on every Def Leppard album. Elliott also has worked on several projects including The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood's solo album Slide on This.

Shrek fans can finally listen to the film’s beloved soundtrack on vinyl. The reissued album will be available on August 2nd. The soundtrack features Smash Mouth’s “All Star,” Rufus Wainwright’s cover of “Hallelujah,” Baha Men’s cover of “Best Years of Our Lives” and both Smash Mouth and Eddie Murphy’s versions of Neil Diamond’s “I’m a Believer.” A limited edition lime green vinyl will be available for purchase along with the wider-release black vinyl.

Hysteria is the fourth studio album by Def Leppard, released on 3 August 1987. It is Def Leppard's best-selling album to date, selling over 25 million copies worldwide, and spawning seven hit singles.
