The biggest, geekiest sci-fi convention in Atlantic Canada Hal-Con is a sci-fi, fantasy and gaming convention run completely by much-too-dedicated volunteers. They are community focused, participating in many events around the Halifax Regional Municipality in Nova Scotia (such as other festivals, parades, and gaming events). Aired for the first time October 27, 1966 (ABC) It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is a prime time animated television special based on the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz, A Halloween special, it was the third Peanuts special (and second holiday-themed special, following A Charlie Brown Christmas) to be produced and animated by Bill Melendez. The special features music composed by jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi, whose contributions include the theme song “Linus and Lucy”.

Santa's back!! After being presented in virtual form because of COVID-19 last year, an in-person 26th annual SaltWire Holiday Parade of Lights is a go for downtown Halifax. The SaltWire Holiday Parade of Lights is organized by members of the Holiday Parade of Lights Society with the assistance of Halifax Regional Municipality and volunteers and is presented by Eastlink TV. The Spryfield Parade is the longest-running Santa Claus Parade east of Montreal! The parade begins at Punch Bowl Drive at 2:00 pm and continues along Herring Cove Road to Dentith Road before concluding at the South Centre Mall (Canadian Tire/Lawtons/No Frills).
