British sailors choose trial by judge alone

Three British sailors will be tried by judge alone on sexual assault charges, according to Local Xpress.

Darren Smalley, Simon Radford and Joshua Finbow all formally entered not guilty pleas to the gang rape charges in connection with an incident at Shearwater in April last year while they were here for exhibition hockey games.

Their lawyers will be back in court next week for a number of pre-trial applications including one for separate trials.
