City moving ahead with Cogswell Interchange replacement

Regional Council has approved a contract with WSP Canada to design the redevelopment of the Cogswell interchange.

The company will get $2.6 million to review and analyze existing preliminary designs, oversee design development, and control aspects such as bidding and negotiation. The design phase is expected to take a little over a year, demoltion about four years with the overall time frame estimated at 13 years.

The city wants to replace the current road network with parks, grade level streets and sell the rest of the land for development.
