DESCRIPTION:The Shag Harbour UFO incident was the reported impact of an unknown large object into waters near Shag Harbour\, a tiny fishing village in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia on October 4\, 1967. The reports were investigated by various civilian (Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Canadian Coast Guard) and military (Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force) agencies of the Government of Canada and the U.S. Condon Committee. The Shag Harbour UFO incident is featured on a new commemorative coin “with sci-fi glow” that’s already 96 per cent sold. The release of the $20 silver coin will be celebrated at the opening night of the Shag Harbour UFO Festival\, happening Oct. 4 to 6\, to commemorate the 1967 event. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Annual festival (in 2019\, October 4–6). \n5615 Highway 3\, Shag Harbour\, South Shore \nThe Shag Harbour Incident Interpretive Centre\, located in the fishing village of Shag Harbour along the South Shore\, chronicles the sighting of a UFO which crashed into the waters of Shag Harbour leaving no trace other than yellow foam. \n\nVisitors to the Centre can view television documentaries\, newspaper articles\, other memorabilia\, and an exhibit on outer space. After a tour of our centre\, visitors can browse through our gift shop. The UFO Gazebo and picnic site can be found about 3 minutes up the road from the Centre\, where visitors can look out on the ocean to the location the object crashed in 1967. \n\nBus tours are welcome. \n
