In May of 1988, the US Surgeon General reported that nicotine was as addictive as heroin. The Edmonton Oilers swept the Boston Bruins in 4 games to win the Stanley Cup, and the USSR began withdrawing over 100,000 troops from Afghanistan. On the radio this spring week in 1988, Natalie Cole and Pebbles were in Casey’s Top 40 countdown.



Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: MAY 14, 1977
8 am – 11 am

In May of 1977, the movie Smokey and the Bandit was released, starring Burt Reynolds and Sally Field. The original Star Wars movie was released in May of 1977 and on the radio, Andrew Gold and KC & The Sunshine Band were in the Top 40 this week with Casey Kasem. Happy Mother’s Day!
