The Commodore 64 home computer was a big seller. The UK and Argentina went to war over the Falkland Islands. It was the year Prince William was born and the year that Dominion Day was renamed to Canada Day. Foreigner and Olivia Newton John were riding high in the music charts.
Sunday’s 70’s Countdown: JANUARY 18, 1975

The beaver became an official symbol of Canada. Mirabel airport opened as a second one for Montreal- it didn’t end up doing very well. Debuting on TV was Saturday Night Live, the Fifth Estate and King of Kensington. In early 1975 we were turning up the radio to Barry Manilow and Neil Sedaka.
