Benefit for Lindsey Hubley

November 4, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

In early March 2017 Mike Sampson and Lindsey Hubley welcomed their son into the world after a happy, healthy pregnancy. As a new family of three, what started out as the happiest time of their lives quickly turned into the unimaginable. Lindsey turned gravely ill and was rushed back to the hospital only days after settling in at home.

She was soon diagnosed with Necrotizing Fasciitis, otherwise known as “flesh eating bacteria”. Lindsey became severely infected and battled multiple organ failures. The treatment process led to an induced coma where Lindsey was fighting for the life she had always dreamed of; to be a mom to her beautiful baby, and a wife to her fiancé Mike.

Lindsey surprised Medical Professionals at every turn. She beat the odds and continues to defy them.
Over 200 days spent hospitalized the battle continues, she has faced numerous side-effects from the disease. Painful burn-like lesions erupted over 50% of her body, resulting in multiple skin graft procedures. The disease also caused clots to form in her extremities, making it necessary to amputate both hands and both of her legs below the knee.

Fast-forward to present day and thankfully all of her major organs have regained function, with the exception of her kidneys. She is receiving dialysis several times a week, with the expectation of a kidney transplant in the future. After months of fighting, trips in and out of Intensive Care, 21 surgeries and procedures, and spending these past 200+ days in the hospital, Lindsey is looking forward to transitioning to the rehab center.
During the rehabilitation process she will learn a new way of life, using prosthetics and a motorized wheelchair for mobility. We are reaching out to you, as members of our community, because together we can help make life a little easier for Lindsey. Robotic prosthetic hands, referred to as ‘Myoelectric Prosthetics’, will significantly contribute towards Lindsey reclaiming some of that independence we so desperately wish we could give back to her after the fight she has been through.

We are asking for your help with our upcoming Benefit by donating an auction item. The Benefit will be held at the Bedford Lions Den on Holland Ave in Bedford on November 4, 2017 starting at 6pm. The event will include a live and silent auction as well as live entertainment throughout the evening.

Donations can be picked up by contacting Mandy Morgan at (902) 483-2461 or emailing the fundraising team at lindseyhubleybenefit@gmail.com. All proceeds from the auction and Benefit will be provided to Lindsey and her Family to help support them in this difficult time.
